LinkedIn Tip #3- Recommendations
The recommendations sections should include current or previous co-worker’s and supervisor’s thoughts on your professional abilities. The default setting in LinkedIn tells you that your profile is complete after receiving three recommendations. Most career coaches suggest having between five and ten good recommendations. Be sure to reach out to former and current co workers and supervisors so they can recommend you on LinkedIn.
When you request recommendations, provide a bulleted list of your skills, strengths, and services so people will write a more accurate account of how well you performed your job and not say something generic like, “She’s good at what she does”.
It is also recommended that you write a recommendation for those who complete one on your behalf.
